Oxford, CT: Phase Zero Design, a national architecture, interior design and planning services firm, is pleased to announce the grand opening of Educational Playcare at Quarry Walk in Oxford, CT, developed by Haynes Development. For their fifteenth location within Connecticut, Educational Playcare partnered with Phase Zero Design to design a modern, ground-up facility. Educational Playcare offers high quality daycare, childcare, education and activities throughout Connecticut.

The freestanding building is 15,000 square feet, featuring five pre-school classrooms, 11 under age three classrooms, office and conference space. The facility also includes a dedicated playground adjacent to the building.

Phase Zero Design’s Project Architect, Robyn Kiernan says, “The custom exterior design has a vibrant and dynamic façade that represents Hayne’s vision for the center while the interior aligns with Educational Playcare’s brand. The interior includes unique features such as a stone garden and water feature for tactile learning.”

The retail team designed the daycare facility with a modern twist by integrating similar materials and colors used throughout the center, aligning it with the larger masterplan for Quarry Walk. The exterior includes significant use of stone harvested from the functioning quarry on site.

About Quarry Walk: Quarry Walk is a 263,000 SF mixed-use center that currently includes a grocery market, retail stores and a daycare facility. This phase of the expansion includes restaurants, medical offices, residential units and additional retail. Additional amenities include walking trails with plans for a dog park and a community green. Phase Zero Design has been working alongside Haynes Development to create a unique Town Center for Oxford’s community.
