Holmdel, NJ – Colliers Engineering & Design, a national multi-discipline engineering, architecture, design and consulting firm, is pleased to announce it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Phase Zero Design Corporation, a commercial architecture, interior design, and branding firm with offices in Simsbury, CT, Hingham, MA and Cary, NC. Phase Zero Design will rebrand as Colliers Engineering & Design in late 2024.

Strong demand for Ellington retail building just as construction begins
Mere weeks after breaking ground on a 7,200-square-foot retail building in Ellington, developer Reggie D. Kronstadt and partners are close to filling the property. A Starbucks had agreed to occupy a portion of the new building in a Big Y-anchored retail plaza at 135 West Road, before construction began in early August.

When children and families enter the new Connecticut Children’s Pediatric Specialty Care Center in Westport, Connecticut, they might not know it, but they’re experiencing the impact of a UHart education firsthand. Completed in December 2022, the new, state-of-the-art space was a collaborative effort, one led by three University of Hartford alumni: Melissa (Nolan) Anthony, AIA, M’15, project manager and space planner for Connecticut Children’s; Nicholas Fucci ’14, M’16, project manager at Phase Zero Design; and Michaela Catallozzi ’11, project manager at C.E. MONROE, CT — A plan to construct a gas station-convenience store at 846 Main St., on vacant property across from Tollgate Plaza, won Planning and Zoning Commission approval last week.
The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the application by a vote of 4 to 1, with Commissioner Leon Ambrosey the sole dissenter.

WEST HARTFORD — A five-story 150-unit mixed-use housing development could be coming to the former Puritan Furniture site on New Britain Avenue in Elmwood.
