What is the most important tool of your trade, and why?
Staying up to date with the current trends and styles is important. Trends come and go, and new, innovative ideas are constantly emerging. Staying up-to-date on and ahead of trends is an important way to strengthen the design and create a timeless space. More so now then ever with social media, its all about creating an experience for the people who will be interacting with the space.
What inspires you most about your field?
The challenge of designing different spaces that people live and interact with every day is exciting. Seeing a project go from sketches, to renderings, to then come to life when its built is the most satisfying.
Describe the moment you realized interior design was for you.
I have always been a creative person who loves to draw and paint, ever since I was little. I’m also very good at paying attention to detail and problem solving. With these skills in mind, as I got older I discovered that I truly loved how all the architectural details, finishes, and fixtures within a room could give the room a true feeling and bring the whole space together.
